Add bug tracking to your Facebook apps

We recently updated BugHerd so it can track bugs in Facebook apps. Native Digital were the first customer to use it on the Reece Mastin app they built for Sony Digital:

BugHerd is a point and click bug tracker so it’s perfect for visually heavy content like Facebook apps. Plus it’s super simple to setup:

1. Setup a BugHerd account

BugHerd has a 30 day free trial and is completely free for up to 2 developers. Just register your account at BugHerd.com.

2. Create a project for your app

Next login to your BugHerd account and hit ‘add project’ to create a new project for your app. You just need to provide a name and URL.

3. Insert some javascript into your app

In your new project click ‘get widget’ to view it’s javascript snippet. Simply insert this after the <head> tag in your app.

4. Start reporting bugs

That’s it. Now you and anyone you invite to your project will see BugHerd whenever they visit your app on Facebook. Click the little ‘+’ button in the sidebar on the right to report a new bug.

A little about the app

When Reece Mastin released his “Shut Up And Draw Me” single he wanted to create an app to engage with fans. The app lets fans draw a picture of Reece using a HTML5 canvas. The best pictures get added to Reece’s photo album and Tumblr. The very best get a hand drawn picture of themselves done by Reece.

A little about Native Digital

Native Digital is a Melbourne based digital marketing and product development agency run by Ned Dwyer. Aside from building kick-arse social applications they advise on social strategy for the likes of eBay Australia and build cool tools like TalkBackApp.com.
