BugHerd and Pivotal Tracker, best of friends
BugHerd comes packed with loads of integrations to handy third-party tools, so we thought we should start showing them off. To start with we’re taking a look at the Pivotal Tracker integration that lots of our customers have been finding useful.
What is Pivotal Tracker?
Pivotal Tracker is a project management tool designed specifically for agile software development teams. With over 370,000 users worldwide it’s become one of the most widely used agile development tools on the planet.
Why use it with BugHerd?
Pivotal Tracker is great for project management but doesn’t provide a simple way for managing visual website issues. Enter BugHerd. BugHerd as I’m sure you’re aware, allows you to simply point and click anywhere on your website to report issues. With the Pivotal Tracker integration these issues can be pushed straight into your existing Pivotal Tracker projects. No need to change the way you work, BugHerd becomes a nice addition to speed up fixing those front-end bugs.
What can it do?
The integration obviously allows you to push front-end issues to Pivotal Tracker but it also includes some nifty additions. Any edits, comments and status changes are synced back with your BugHerd project. Allowing you to jump between the two tools freely without losing changes. Details on how the 2-way sync works are available here.
Your developers could be working on your website with BugHerd while you are managing their tasks through Pivotal Tracker. You’ll see their updates come in without delay. For example once a task is marked as done in BugHerd you could then accept or reject them from Pivotal Tracker, to either close the bug in BugHerd or move it back to “todo”. You’ll also have a direct channel of communication with your developers. Comments are immediately synchronised and pushed in both directions so that you can quickly answer questions and offer clarifications.
Give it a go
To get started simply select integrations at the top of the BugHerd project management pages. Then follow these setup instructions. If you’ve found any interesting uses for Pivotal Tracker and BugHerd we’d love to hear about it: support@bugherd.com
