We’re just about to close our Angel round, and as such are getting ready to hire! We’re looking for two people, and although you aren’t two people, we’re hoping that you’re at least one of them. We’re an Australian company, but would love to work with people anywhere in the world. If you’re in Melbourne, you DO get bonus points, and if you’re not you can always try faking it.
Rather than pigeonhole smart people into a box, we’re just going to list what we need and hope you can fullfill a few bits and pieces of what we’re after. If you think you tick some or all of the boxes tell us who you are, what you’ve done and what you’re good at by filling out our questionarium
Need more details? Fair enough too! So, here’s what we’re after, and keep in mind you don’t need to be ALL of these things. That’d be just weird:
Requirement # 1 – Rails
BugHerd is a Rails app. If you want to tick the Rails box, you need to really know your stuff. It’s all well and good to be able to hack something together, but we want someone who knows every facet of RoR.
Requirement # 2 – JS
Aside from Rails, the next biggest part of BugHerd is the JS. We use some cross-domain JSONP stuff, with some fancy cookie stuff, and a dash of custom DOM selectors. JQuery helps us with a lot of our stuff, but you really need to know how to get by without it for the times when we can’t use it.
Requirement # 3 – HTML/CSS
This kinda goes without saying for a web app. No matter if your the front-end type or the back-end type, you really need to know your way around HTML and CSS. If you’re interested in the front-end gig, you want to be an absolute GUN with CSS and LESS.
Requirement #4 – Design
Obviously if you’re looking into the Rails gig, you probably don’t need to be a great designer, and vice-versa. We’re looking for a designer who can knock out awesome landing pages, schmick UI and is into usability in a big way.
If you fit one or more of these categories, go to the questionarium and let us know!
