Sneak peek: new bug reporter role

We’ve been talking about this for some time and it’s almost ready for launch. By popular demand, BugHerd will soon include a new user role: bug reporters.

What are bug reporters?

Bug reporters are a new type of BugHerd user, that as the name suggests, are designed just to report bugs.

What’s different?

  • Bug reporters can only report bugs (and can only see bugs they report)
  • Bug reporters don’t have access to your admin panel
  • Bug reporters won’t count towards your standard user limits
  • New bug reporting mode, that makes reporting multiple bugs easier:

What’s the point?

The point is simple; anyone will be able to report bugs on your site. BugHerd was originally designed to make it super simple for development teams to manage their visual website issues. What we’ve found is it’s also incredibly useful for non technical staff, clients and customers. These users don’t need to see all your bugs or access your project settings, so we created the new bug reporter role.

You can now invite your clients, your marketing team, your friends or beta testers to log bugs without having to worry about them having access to the inner workings of your project. The best part is that these users won’t count towards your normal developer user limits.
