That part of BugHerd that pops out from the right of your browser window when you roll over it? It’s the “sidebar”. We’re about to release a sidebar that loads like lightning, has full text searching, supports Internet Explorer and scales to suit even our largest teams. Here’s the main changes:
Speed
This puppy is fast, lightning fast. Load times are well under a second. We can load hundreds of bugs in the blink of an eye, and it will only get faster in the future as we introduce smarter caching and streamlined task loading. We’ve always said BugHerd is the fastest bug tracker for the web, well now it’s even more so.
Streamlined interface
The new multi-pane interface allows you to quickly skim and drill down to issues with less clicks and clutter. In the near future we’ll also support bulk task editing, “tags” and some other nifty little features all designed to make working with tasks faster than ever.
Find issues fast
New sorting options and full text search means you’ll find issues fast. You could always sort by date and priority, but can you sort by last modified date as well as search by description, priority, assignment and task id.
Capture more info
Not only can issues include much longer comments and descriptions but we also display the reporters meta data including brower, os, solution and colour info.
Now supporting Internet Explorer
The new version finally supports Internet Explorer from version 7 onwards. Yes we know it’s slack that it’s taken as this long… but hey…we’re busy people!
Notifications
Coming soon, we’ll have a brand new notifications system which means you’ll never miss another issue. We’re replacing the little blue dots that nobody noticed with much clearer and easier to work with notifications. This sadly won’t quite be ready for the new release, but it is coming very soon!
The new Sidebar is currently available to our special early adopter customers. If you’d like to be one of those, please let us know!
